Earlier this month Jacob Rees-Mogg MP made some highly offensive and upsetting comments about the Grenfell fire victims. He was forced to issue “a profound apology” after he told a radio interviewer: “I think if either of us were in a fire, whatever the fire brigade said, we would leave the burning building. It just seems the common sense thing to do.”
But, we believe that his brief apology is not enough. The 72 people who lost their lives and the hundreds of families whose homes were destroyed deserve more. His disrespectful and insensitive comments show that he is not fit to be a member of Parliament and we demand that Jacob Rees-Moog immediately resigns.
Since the tragic events on the 14th June 2017 at Grenfell Tower no one has been held responsible. This is not acceptable.
We demand justice for the families of Grenfell. Sign our petition.
